IT & Business Legal Counsel (CDD de 6 mois)

Upward Legal is a recruiting agency dedicated to legal roles. One of our client, a leading American company in the Financial/Insurance sector, is looking for an IT/IP & Business Legal Counsel to join its EMEA Legal Team in Paris. This position is for a 6 months fixed term contract (CDD) from January to June 2025. ROLE : This position is responsible for providing professional and prompt legal advice in the EMEA region, especially in view of legal risks including big data analysis and software programming. You will be supervised by the Head of Legal EMEA. MISSIONS: The role will notably the following missions: Legal assessment, analysis, drafting, adaptation, negotiation, and approval of contracts (services, data analysis, software, IT etc.) with clients and other business partners Legal evaluation of locally adapted consulting products and services Identification, evaluation, and documentation of non-compliance risks in view of legal and regulatory directives as well as in view of the stipulations of the Group Setting-up and updating of standard contracts on the basis of legal regularizations and jurisdiction KEY PROFILES REQUIREMENTS: Fully qualified lawyer in a relevant EMEA jurisdiction A minimum of 5 years’ post admission experience working in one or several EMEA jurisdictions (law firm or in-house legal practice) in the area of contract law particularly with respect to Software, IT, big data analysis, AI and digital law Strong and demonstrated understanding of at least one EMEA jurisdiction and experience with cross-border legal contracts issues in the EMEA area (e.g. common law) Ability to deal with various commercial laws across several EMEA countries Ability to process, progress and complete matters independently, seeking guidance when needed Good contract drafting and negotiating experience, with experience in drafting of commercial agreements Collaborative workstyle Good interpersonal skills LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Fluency in written and oral French, English and Spanish is mandatory for this position.
