Through a close collaboration with cross-functional teams and international multiparty stakeholders, your main objective will be to design and implement algorithms that enhance their performance, reliability and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Develop and refine matching at the heart of EPEX optimized electricity market : Perform algorithm development, write specifications, lead tests, perform simulations, support release management Analyse various market metrics such as volumes, volatility, spreads and prices Automate some processes to streamline workflows Assess impact of requirements and provide internal algorithmic support to other departments Perform prospective research and development activities: Foster continuous improvement on algorithm topics related to the future development of our European market coupling initiatives Monitor and evaluate the performance of implemented algorithms, making data-driven recommendations for the best efficiency Stay abreast of the latest developments in algorithms, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, and proactively apply this knowledge to enhance our processes Key Requirements: Hard Skills: Strong background in applied mathematics, algorithms, data structures, and optimization/operations research techniques; knowledge of commercial solvers (eg : CPLEX, Xpress, Gurobi) Proficiency in programming – at ease with Python scripting and used to database querying (SQL) and data management Knowledge of Git, collaborative development, pipelining is a plus Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills Genuine proactivity to explore new ideas and innovative solutions and find ways to leverage knowledge within the team Team player with a positive and customer-focused attitude Very good communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Minimum 3 years’ experience with data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling in the field of numerical analysis/ optimization Familiarity with energy systems, power grids, or renewable energy technologies is a plus. LANGUAGE SKILLS Fluent in English (written and verbal) Good knowledge of French and/or German is a plus LOCATION Your work location will preferably be Paris, with no specific restriction amongst other EPEX offices locations and an attractive hybrid work policy.
