A dynamic, early-stage medical device company is developing a revolutionary catheter-based therapy. We are seeking a versatile and motivated individual to join our team and contribute across multiple areas, including product design, preclinical studies, early-stage manufacturing, and quality systems. The R&D Engineer will play a pivotal role in advancing our innovative technology platform and improving patient outcomes. This role will involve driving the development of the next-generation catheter product, encompassing product design, preclinical assessments, design verification, pilot manufacturing, collaboration with contract manufacturers, and support for clinical trials. The R&D Engineer will convert user needs and requirements into practical design solutions, rigorously document design and testing data, and work closely with the technical team to make data-driven decisions and contribute to intellectual property efforts. As part of a small, collaborative, and mission-driven team, the R&D Engineer will play a key role in shaping a transformative medical technology. This position is based near Paris, France. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering. 2 years of experience in medical device development (4 years preferred). Proven experience in guiding medical devices through design control stages, from concept to clinical application. Proficiency in several areas, such as catheter-based device design, ultrasound technology, preclinical testing, pilot manufacturing, contract manufacturing partnerships, and clinical trial support. Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive, adaptable mindset. Strong communication skills and fluency in English (written and spoken). Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities. Willingness to travel up to 30% for engagements with engineering partners and clinical sites
