International Business Development Director : this position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a company at the forefront of pharmaceutical innovation while leading a dynamic team and working closely with global, regional, and local stakeholders. Our client is a globally recognized leader in Life Sciences, operating in over 80 countries with 12 subsidiaries and innovation clusters across 4 continents. We are recruiting its International Business Development Director , who will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the global business development strategy for the company’s pharmaceutical services. This position requires a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical market landscape, manufacturing processes, and regulatory environment. The successful candidate will drive strategic decisions and effectively communicate the company's vision to internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Position Details : Reports to : Group Director Pharmaceuticals, based at the French Corporate Headquarters Team : Direct management of 5 people Scope : Cross-functional dotted-line management across affiliates and clusters Key Responsibilities: Strategic Business Development Develop and execute the business development strategy to strengthen market presence across affiliates, ensuring alignment with the company’s global, regional, and local objectives. Proactively engage with customers to identify opportunities, build a robust pipeline, and advance partnerships. Represent the company in technical customer discussions, deeply understanding individual customer needs and manufacturing challenges. Drive the achievement of new business, renewal targets, revenue, and profitability on a quarterly and annual basis. Collaboration with Marketing Teams Act as a key interface between global marketing, clusters, and local affiliates to ensure strategic alignment and coherence of the company’s value proposition. Collect and analyze feedback from regions and affiliates to adjust the value proposition and optimize product launches. Provide data-driven insights to marketing teams on quantitative and qualitative performance metrics post-launch. Market Intelligence and Forecasting Challenge regional market forecasts to ensure consistency with the company’s strategic goals and marketing brand estimations. Collaborate closely with supply chain teams to align rolling forecasts with budgets and manage forecast calendars. Team Management and Leadership Manage and develop a team of five people, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. Work effectively within a matrix structure, managing dotted-line responsibilities with regional and affiliate teams. Encourage cross-functional collaboration between marketing, sales, and operational teams to ensure seamless execution of strategies. Who You Are: Educational Background : BAC5 – Pharmacist, Scientist, or Business School graduate. Experience : Minimum 7 years of experience in Business Development and/or Strategic & Operational Marketing in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector. Skills and Competencies : Strong presentation, negotiation, and persuasion skills Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Proven ability to manage people directly and indirectly in a multicultural environment Organizational skills to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously Problem-solving mindset, with a proactive and autonomous approach Ability to work under pressure and meet fluctuating deadlines Collaborative Spirit : Adept at building strong relationships with diverse teams across regions and functions.
