Job Title: Import Manager Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa - Kempton Park Job Type: Full-Time Experience Level: Senior (7 years of relevant experience) Salary: Market Related, send me your required monthly CTC and Notice Period About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Import Manager to join our dynamic team. As an Import Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all import operations, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and optimizing the import process to improve efficiency and reduce costs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, international trade, and supply chain management. Key Responsibilities: Plan and manage import operations to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods. Develop and implement import strategies, policies, and procedures. Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs authorities to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, including customs clearance and documentation requirements. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers and service providers to secure the best rates and services. Monitor and analyze import data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Manage and maintain accurate import records and documentation. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. Provide leadership and guidance to the import team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of experience in import management or a similar role. In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in relevant software and systems (e.g., ERP, MS Office, etc.). Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Preferred Qualifications: Professional certification in international trade or logistics (e.g., CILT, APICS, etc.).
