Maintenance Mechanical Engineer X2 - £45k - £56k plus retainer Van Permanent London – District Heating / Heat Pumps / CHP / Power Generation You'll also assist the Operations & Maintenance lead engineers to help plan, co-ordinate and complete maintenance activities, both mechanical and electrical, that impact/are likely to impact on the operational performance of the District Heating Network. The aim is to reduce unplanned unavailability keeping our customers on supply 24/7 and improve the performance of the assets while ensuring all major costs are identified early in the process to assist with Business planning. What we need from you Achieved a minimum Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Experience and knowledge of the installation, inspection and testing, maintenance of District Heating systems and all associated plant. Experience and knowledge associated with the safe isolation and re-commissioning of plant / pipework / electrical systems. Experience of IT communications systems. The ability to look for best practise, innovate and appropriately challenge existing processes to improve the plant operational and commercial performance. Basic health and safety knowledge and competence in hazard identification, risk assessment and management of risks. Contract Engagement skills and experience to appropriately challenge contractors on the methods, quality and standards of work. Excellent understanding of the commercial and financial effects of plant operation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to form effective working relationships, deliver expert advice and influence at all levels. Must hold a full UK driving license.
