We are seeking a Senior Vice President, Financial Crimes Compliance EMEA (“FCC EMEA”) to shape and lead the Bank’s best-in-class financial crimes and compliance programs across the EMEA region. This is a leadership role and will report to the Global Head of Financial Crimes Compliance in the US, with administrative reporting to the Managing Director, Region Head of EMEA. As the Senior Vice President, Financial Crimes EMEA, you will have the opportunity to lead critical functions in a dynamic and internationally connected organization. Key Responsibilities Lead the Bank’s AML, Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) compliance programs across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Provide FCC thought leadership for the Bank’s client selection and business development programs, with overall second line accountability for EMEA portfolio risk profile. Manage KYC and Transaction Monitoring processes for EMEA. This includes conducting Quality Control (QC) reviews of Know Your Customer (KYC) files; ensuring client risk assessment was appropriately performed per the Bank’s policies and procedures; reviewing transaction monitoring alerts and investigations; ensuring all regulatory reports are filed timely and appropriately. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, such as BSA/OFAC, EMEA-specific frameworks, and related international standards. Support the development and enhancement of appropriate compliance policies, procedures, and training materials. Collaborate with the Head of Financial Crimes to conduct the annual enterprise wide Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanction risk assessments, including development/updating of the methodology, tools, procedures; support conducting the evaluations including analysis, documenting the results in formalized reports for the Board of Directors, and oversight of workpaper retention in accordance with the Bank’s protocols and standards. Drive a risk-centric culture by leading AML and other related training and educational initiatives for employees. Manage key Client and Third-Party Risk Management programs, including Customer Identification Programs (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), vendor risk assessments, Transaction Monitoring, and Sanctions/PEP/Adverse Media screening. Support the Bank’s overall Risk and Compliance and Enterprise Risk Management programs – including but not limited to Operational Risks, Third Party Risks and Fraud Risks. Qualifications 10-15 years of in-depth Financial Crimes Compliance experience at a bank, ideally with subject matter expertise in areas like correspondent banking. In-depth knowledge of FCC practices in various EMEA markets. ACAMS certification (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) preferred. Banknote regional country knowledge is preferred but not essential. Experience vetting Financial Institutions across EMEA and performing enhanced due diligence on correspondent banking customers. Proven experience in developing and operationalizing compliance programs, including AML, Sanctions, and ABC initiatives. Strong project management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Exceptional analytical and critical reasoning skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making. A bachelor’s degree or law degree is preferred, though equivalent experience will also be considered. Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights. Engaging and approachable, with the ability to build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders. GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION The preferred location for this role is London, UK. Exceptional FCC candidates across major cities in EMEA will be considered. The role will require periodic travel to prospective and current clients across EMEA and occasional travel to the US.
