Data Architect

Location: Paris or Lyon (Hybrid, 3 days onsite) About the Role We are seeking a strategic yet hands-on Data Architect to lead and shape enterprise-level data architecture, driving innovation and collaboration across diverse teams. This role offers the opportunity to design scalable, integrated data ecosystems, promote modern principles like Data Mesh, and influence the future of data management in a complex global environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and evolve the enterprise data model, ensuring alignment with business domains and scalability across the organization. Lead the adoption of modern data architecture frameworks, including Data Mesh principles, to drive decentralized ownership and efficient data sharing. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure data solutions meet analytical and operational needs. Design and promote best practices for data transformation using programmatic approaches (e.g., DBT, Airflow) on top of cloud platforms like AWS. Ensure adherence to data governance standards, including data quality, lineage, and compliance, by collaborating with governance teams. Stay ahead of industry advancements to introduce innovative solutions and continuously improve the data ecosystem. Key Qualifications Technical Expertise : Proficiency in Snowflake, AWS (primary), and Azure (desirable). Hands-on experience with DBT, Airflow, SQL, Python, and distributed computing frameworks like Spark. Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data governance tools. Familiarity with integration tools like Informatica (awareness rather than hands-on). Soft Skills : Exceptional leadership and influencing abilities, with a track record of driving alignment across technical and business teams. Strong listening and communication skills to effectively engage diverse stakeholders. Open-minded problem-solver with a focus on scalable, innovative solutions. Experience : Proven background in data engineering transitioning into data architecture roles. Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, complex data ecosystems and aligning data architecture with business needs.
