Job Description

As a global leader in satellite communications, we provide infinite connectivity, broadcasting television channels and packages, transmitting news reports, provide wholesale broadband Internet access services. The Satellite Payload Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process of new payloads, starting from the development and refinement of technical specifications. This role involves closely monitoring the design phase, ensuring alignment with project requirements, and participating in the assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) activities. The engineer will also lead the evaluation of payload performance during ground testing and be involved in the critical phase of in-orbit testing to ensure the payload meets all mission objectives. Close collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams will be essential throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities: Manage the complete lifecycle of satellite payload systems, from developing specifications to overseeing design, assembly, integration, and testing, ensuring alignment with mission objectives. Contribute to the technical evaluation of proposals from satellite manufacturers, emphasizing payload performance and design. Conduct thorough assessments of payload technologies to ensure they meet both technical and operational requirements effectively. Represent the organization during technical meetings and reviews, ensuring compliance with standards for design, analysis, and testing, and verifying that payloads achieve communication objectives. Perform on-site reviews of payload testing outcomes, facilitating prompt decisions on the acceptability of results. Compile comprehensive reports on payload testing and in-orbit performance to confirm operational readiness and acceptance. Stay informed on advancements in payload design, simulation tools, and emerging technologies to foster innovation and enhance satellite communication capabilities. Identify critical focus areas and regularly update management on progress and challenges. Qualifications: A university degree with honors in Engineering, specializing in Telecommunications, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master’s or PhD in a relevant field is preferred. Over 10 years of experience in satellite telecommunications payload engineering or equivalent expertise gained through advanced degrees. Proven track record in specifying, designing, developing, testing, and integrating satellite payloads. Hands-on experience in designing payloads for GEO or LEO satellites is highly desirable. Expertise in RF and microwave engineering, including analog signal chain design, frequency conversion, filtering, high-power amplification, and RF chain technologies. Significant experience with on-board digital processors, software-defined radios (SDR), and active antenna systems. Familiarity with programming tools like Python or MATLAB for simulation and performance analysis is advantageous. Strong understanding of Telemetry, Tracking, and Control (TT&C) systems and satellite operations. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate with a variety of stakeholders. Flexibility and willingness to travel frequently for technical meetings, reviews, and testing activities. Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
