Quality Manager Location: South Kirkby Salary: upto £55,000 Industry: Manufacturing Are you an experienced Quality Manager with a strong background in welding, fabrication, and manufacturing ? This is a critical role focused on overseeing quality assurance and control in a manufacturing environment where welding and fabrication are central to operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing welding quality systems to standards such as BS EN ISO 1090 / 3834 , and the ability to lead quality initiatives across the business. Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 and industry-specific standards. Oversee the welding and fabrication quality processes , ensuring compliance with BS EN ISO 1090 / 3834 . Drive quality improvements across manufacturing processes, with a strong emphasis on welding and fabrication. Lead internal and external audits and maintain certifications related to welding and fabrication quality. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize welding processes and address quality issues. Implement and promote continuous improvement initiatives , such as Lean and Six Sigma. Manage and mentor the quality team, fostering a culture of quality excellence. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and oversee the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Work closely with suppliers to ensure the quality of materials, especially those related to welding and fabrication. What You'll Bring: Essential Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. At least 5-7 years of experience in quality management , with a focus on welding, fabrication, and manufacturing . Strong knowledge of industry standards, including ISO 9001 and BS EN ISO 1090 / 3834 . Hands-on experience with quality tools and methodologies, such as FMEA, RCA, SPC, Six Sigma , and Lean Manufacturing. Proven track record in conducting audits and ensuring compliance with welding and fabrication standards . Proficiency in quality management software and tools like Minitab, SAP, or similar . Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams. Desirable: Certifications such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent. Familiarity with IATF 16949, FDA regulations , or other specialized industry standards. Knowledge of environmental and health & safety management systems ( ISO 14001, ISO 45001 ).
