Head of Software Engineering

Head of Engineering Permanent role Salary: £100,000 - £130,000 Hybrid - London Essential Skills and Background: Extensive experience in leading .NET development teams, driving technical strategy, and delivering scalable enterprise-grade solutions. Strong proficiency in the .NET ecosystem, including .NET Core, ASP.NET, and C#. Proven track record of designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices using .NET technologies. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP, particularly in deploying and managing .NET applications. Solid understanding of database technologies, including SQL Server and Entity Framework. Proficient in DevOps practices, with experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins. Strong familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes, especially in a .NET environment. Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills, with a history of fostering high-performing engineering teams. Desirable: Experience with Blazor or other modern .NET front-end frameworks. Knowledge of cloud-native application development using Azure services such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, or Azure App Service. Familiarity with NoSQL databases like Cosmos DB or MongoDB. Background in integrating third-party SaaS platforms and external APIs. Understanding of security best practices, including identity management with Azure AD and OAuth. Prior experience in scaling engineering teams and building collaborative, cross-functional environments.
