CMCC Position cod. 12664 Junior Grant Specialist Deadline: January 31th, 2025 WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR CMCC's financial sustainability is based on the vigorous fundraising efforts of all CMCC staff and scientists. CMCC is constantly working with the goal of extending its network of collaboration with universities and research agencies by participating in the competitive funding process for Grants & Tenders (European research and innovation programs, as well as national and international competitive funding). To this end, CMCC has an in-house office - the Fund Raising Office based in Milan - dedicated to the monitoring of national, European and international funding opportunities, and supporting the preparation and submission of CMCC proposals throughout pre-award phase. CMCC Fund Raising team is now seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Grant Specialist to support our team in securing funding for critical research projects. We are now embarking on a new chapter of our journey that will further boost CMCC’s global position in climate change research…Together ROLE The Junior Grant Specialist reports to the Head of Fund Raising and is responsible for the activities described below: RESPONSIBILITIES The Junior Grant Specialist will support the Fund Raising team, with: Assist in identifying funding opportunities from public and private sources. Provide support for grant application preparation, including collecting required documentation and reviewing application guidelines. Collaborate with researchers to draft and submit proposals under supervision. Help maintain a database of funding opportunities. Provide administrative support for grant making and grant preparation and compliance processes. Support the negotiation of the contracts with the financing bodies and liaising with CMCC researchers, consortium partners, funding authorities and other CMCC departments for what concerns the administrative & legal requirements. Contribute to the tracking of CMCC grant applications. Support to draft internal reports. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, public administration, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of work experience in grant writing, fundraising and/or pre-award management. Very good knowledge of the English language. Accuracy and good analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills. Willingness to learn and grow in the field of grant writing and pre-award management. Familiarity with funding agencies such as Horizon Europe (preferred but not required). Familiarity with grants management tools preferred. Experience in the negotiation process es. review of legal contracts (preferred). Knowledge of (spoken and written) Italian & English is essential. Proficiency in computer skills. Efficient multitasking, organizational and time management skills. Ability to work both independently and in team. Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and diverse environment. DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally. The Junior Grant Specialist will be based in Milan CMCC office. Contract and gross annual salary will be based on qualifications and working experience. Welfare package, for minimum 12 months contract. Flexible working time as per internal policies. Support during the immigration process, if needed.
