Employer Description Inbound Tour Operator Job Description This role demands an experienced and dynamic sales person with a background in the B2B safari industry with focus on enhancing and maintaining trade relationships to support sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities: Agent / Trade Relationship Management Maintaining and nurturing good trade relations is key with our trade partners (travel agents, operators, private guides etc.) with the goal of increasing bookings, engaging with new trade partners and securing their business. Regular product updates, presentations, feedback and ensure timely follow-ups with potential and existing trade partners. Hosting of educationals and attending related trade sales events. Address and resolve complaints or concerns efficiently. Much of the work will be based on in person visits as well as online calls with travel trade partners. Market Expansion Identify new market and customer segments for possible business growth. Attend trade fairs, exhibitions, and networking events to increase brand visibility trade partners, both in person and online nationally, regionally and internationally from time to time. Maintaining and growing existing relationships with Africa based travel trade partners through regular in-person meetings in their offices, as well as remotely, product training & updates, finding new agents and growing this business. Product Knowledge and Presentation Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the companys offerings, including travel destinations, packages, and services. Create and deliver effective sales presentations tailored to client needs. Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities. Maintain accurate records of sales leads, prospects, and customer interactions within the team database. Provide detailed sales reports and forecasts for the management team. Coordinate with marketing and operations teams for promotional activities and seamless service delivery. Share market insights with team members to align sales strategies. Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualification is advantageaous Skills Aware, energetic with strong verbal and written communication skills. Lateral thinking ability and creativity must be able to cope under pressure. Attention to detail. Diligence, initiative and self-motivation to meet deadlines. Willingness/ability to share information and teach and inspire others. Basic financial skills. Outstanding interpersonal relationship building skills. Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint. Previous Work Experience Required: Prior sales experience in a similar role: B2B safari industry (connection between our product and travel trade members agents, safari specialists etc.) Lodge or operations experience is a plus. Good knowledge of ecotourism and African safari industry as a whole (understanding fellow operators/peers) 8 10 years experience within the industry. Passion for wild & unusual places with a strong appreciation for eco-tourism Passionate about creating memorable experiences for individuals. Sense of urgency. Attention to detail. Requirements: Role will ideally be based in South Africa (Cape Town/JHB) also open to candidates based in Maun /Vic Falls. The role is remote, and the successful candidate will be working from home, although a fair amount of travel will be required. Candidate should have a valid drivers license and own vehicle.
