Who You Are You are a seasoned professional with substantial experience in social housing and a strong trade background. Your deep understanding of building regulations and compliance is complemented by exceptional communication and customer service skills. With extensive knowledge of the construction industry and site operations, you effectively lead and support trade teams, enhancing performance for better customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. You boast a proven record in managing pre and post inspections, ensuring adherence to quality frameworks. Your ability to communicate effortlessly and courteously in English with diverse public members is vital, and you are proficient in using handheld technology. You excel in health and safety compliance, understanding the importance of rigorous risk assessments and method statements. Your capacity to collaborate and maintain constructive relationships, both internally and externally, is complemented by your supervisory experience, particularly under demanding situations. You are prepared for participation in a 24-hour on-call rota and flexible enough to attend necessary meetings during evenings and weekends. What the Job Involves The Repairs Supervisor role involves leading a team of repair operatives to ensure superior work quality and efficient material use. You will manage complex diagnostics and oversee multi-trade projects, such as extensive leak repairs affecting multiple properties. Responsibilities include conducting toolbox talks, one-on-one sessions with operatives, and inspecting tenanted properties. You'll manage void teams to ensure timely delivery and attend evening tenant association meetings to realign services with customer needs. Ensuring strict compliance with health and safety regulations in all activities, including inspection tasks and emergency call-outs, is crucial. The role requires proficiency with IT hardware and software, including mobile technology, to support modern operations. Additionally, you'll manage a Council-supplied van and fuel, ensuring secure and efficient transport and storage of materials and tools. Certification of an Enhanced DBS check is a requirement, and flexibility is necessary to meet community needs and provide emergent responses as required.
