Energy Manager (Electricity Markets) Location: La Défense, Paris Salary: Up to €70,000 €5.8k salaried bonus benefits Hours: Monday to Friday, no weekends Excellent opportunity to join a large European Wind & Solar organisation The Opportunity Our client is seeking a highly skilled Energy Manager to join their Power Marketing Department, based in La Défense, Paris. This department plays a critical role in negotiating and implementing strategies for the commercialisation of electricity produced by renewable power plants. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to drive forward-thinking initiatives in the flexibility services sector, focusing on European ancillary services and demand-response markets. Key Responsibilities Identify and evaluate new opportunities to commercialise flexible assets (such as wind farms, solar farms, and batteries) in ancillary services and demand-response markets across Europe, analysing technical feasibility, market rules and business cases Monitor market trends and competitors, specifically in flexibility commercialisation, balancing markets, and ancillary services Stay up to date with market designs, new regulations, rules and products Support the Power Marketing Department in launching market entry projects, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders from the proposal phase to project go-live Perform detailed market analysis and continuously refine the commercialisation strategy for flexible assets Actively participate in working groups related to flexibility and optimisation, such as TSO (Transmission System Operator) groups Contribute to the development of PMD’s roadmap for energy products and services Qualifications and Experience A strong academic background in Energy Economics or Engineering, with a deep understanding of the economic and technical aspects of the energy sector A minimum of 5-years of experience working in European electricity markets Proven experience in the commercialisation of flexible assets in ancillary services or demand-response markets Analytical mindset, with the ability to approach problems methodically and rigorously Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating cross-functionally with teams in marketing, operations and finance Able to work independently and present findings effectively to various stakeholders Technical and programming skills (such as using Keras or Scikit-Learn for machine learning) are highly desirable, alongside experience with optimisation and data science techniques Familiarity with pricing models in the commodities environment is a plus Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Fluency in English is essential Next Steps Our client is going through a significant period of growth and have plans to increase their headcount over the next 12-18 months, so if you are passionate about advancing innovative flexibility services in the energy sector and want to make a significant impact, this role may be perfect for you If the above opportunity sounds of interest and you would like to be considered for the role, please click apply and a member of our team will be in touch soon to discuss your application further.
