Job Description About the role We are looking to hire an actuarial intern to join the French Pricing team in Paris, reporting to the Head of Pricing France Life & Health. In this role, you will be responsible for several topics which may involve: Develop and improve pricing tools (Excel, VBA, R). Assist L&H Pricing Actuaries in conducting actuarial studies on client portfolios to improve our internal best estimates. Assist L&H Pricing Actuaries on daily quotations. Working on the implementation of several projects. To be successful in the role you will need to be familiar with programming (VBA, R, Python) as well as with L&H actuarial techniques such as the application of decrements, discounting, and the derivation of present values. Qualifications About you We are looking for an intern with modelling skills who seeks challenge and has a desire to learn about new products, markets and approaches. You wish to work in a dynamic and culturally diverse environment with colleagues possessing a wide and varied range of experiences. In addition, to be an ideal candidate you have the following background, skills and mindset: Student in 2nd year of engineering school or 1st year of Master courses with an actuarial/applied mathematics background. Excellent analytical skills, strong proficiency in programming languages (VBA, R, Python), data manipulation and data visualization. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with SQL and databases in general is a plus. Well-organized, proactive, curious, creative and solution-oriented. Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical topics to non-technical audiences. Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken skills are necessary. Highly motivated, openness for continuous improvement. Previous experience in life (re)insurance would be a plus.
