Location: Remote Role (JHB Gauteng) Industry: Finance / Insurance Overview Our client, the largest bank in Zimbabwe, is embarking on an ambitious transformation journey and is seeking a Group Digital Transformation Director to lead and drive this initiative. This role is pivotal in redefining the banks operations, enhancing customer experience, and positioning the organisation as a leader in digital innovation within the financial sector. Open to Zimbabweans (naturalised or work permit) based in South Africa or South Africans open to earning in USD. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership: o Develop and execute a comprehensive digital transformation strategy aligned with the bank's goals and vision. o Collaborate with the executive team to define priorities, resources, and timelines for transformation initiatives. 2. Technology & Innovation: o Spearhead the adoption of cutting-edge digital technologies to modernise processes and optimise customer experience. o Lead the integration of data analytics, AI, and other emerging technologies to drive innovation. 3. Operational Excellence: o Oversee the end-to-end transformation of core banking operations, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and security. o Drive automation, streamline processes, and enhance operational effectiveness across the organisation. 4. Customer-Centric Solutions: o Champion initiatives that enhance customer engagement through seamless digital platforms and products. o Ensure the bank remains competitive by understanding and anticipating market trends and customer needs. 5. Governance & Compliance: o Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards across all transformation initiatives. o Establish robust governance frameworks to manage risks associated with digital transformation. 6. Leadership & Team Development: o Build and mentor high-performing teams to execute the digital transformation agenda. o Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and agility throughout the organisation. Key Requirements Experience - A strong background in the finance or insurance sector. - Demonstrated success in leading digital transformation initiatives, ideally at the group or enterprise level. - Between 510 years in strategic leadership roles (to ensure adaptability and fresh perspectives). - Proven ability to manage large-scale transformation programs, with measurable results. - Stability in career progression, avoiding frequent job changes while demonstrating growth in responsibilities. Skills & Competencies - Deep understanding of digital transformation frameworks and tools. - Expertise in customer-centric innovation and operational optimisation. - Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively at the C-suite level. - Solid grasp of regulatory requirements in finance and insurance sectors. - Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. - Strong communication skills, able to articulate a vision and rally teams around it. Preferred - Experience working in emerging markets or contexts similar to Zimbabwe. - Familiarity with financial inclusion initiatives and leveraging technology to reach underserved markets.
