Job Title: Group Core Banking Applications Specialist Location: Zimbabwe (Fully remote) Compensation: Competitive salary in US Dollars Overview: Our client, the largest bank in Zimbabwe, is undergoing a transformative journey and is seeking a dynamic Group Core Banking Applications Specialist to play a pivotal role in this transformation. This individual will oversee, manage, and optimise core banking systems, ensuring seamless integration, functionality, and alignment with the banks strategic goals. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the implementation, customisation, and optimisation of core banking applications to meet the groups operational and business needs. Lead system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations to support new banking products, compliance standards, and scalability requirements. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Operations, and Business Units, to ensure alignment of system capabilities with business objectives. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to core banking systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency. Ensure the security, compliance, and data integrity of core banking systems in line with international and local regulatory standards. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to internal teams to enhance overall system knowledge and capabilities. Collaborate with vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and oversee system support services. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field. A solid background (minimum 5 years) in core banking applications or similar enterprise systems within the banking, finance, or insurance sectors. Proven experience in implementing or managing systems or other major core banking platforms. A balance of tenure: demonstrated progression within roles (minimum 3 years per role) without excessive job-hopping, ensuring both commitment and diverse experience. Strong knowledge of banking operations, financial systems, and regulatory requirements. Experience with system integrations, migrations, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and data protection in financial systems. Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise between technical teams and business stakeholders. Leadership experience is an advantage, especially in managing cross-functional teams or projects.
