English Teacher - Redbridge - Secondary School A Secondary School in Redbridge is looking to appoint an English teacher to join a department working with colleagues who are committed to delivering outstanding lessons across all key stages and have a passion for making English memorable, relatable and relevant to life in the 21st Century. Boosting reading ages and literacy is a key focus for the school and a positive role model is required to boost reading aspirations. The successful candidates will have an honours degree. Applications from Early Career Teachers will be received along with those who have been teaching for some time and who already have a track record of examination success. The ability to teach KS5 English Literature is highly desirable but not essential. TheEnglish team is dynamic, well led and works as a unit to ensure the progress for all students is at least as good as Maths and that students get those vital qualifications whether it be a 5 at GCSE or an A in EnglishA Level. In return for your commitment and passion for teaching, the school will offer: · A stimulating, supportive and rewarding working environment · Access to regular CPD sessions, focusing on learning and teaching and subject · Outstanding ITT provision · Leadership Development Programme · Teacher pension scheme English Teacher - Qualifications & Experience The successful candidate will: Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice), ideally in an 11-18 school Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning Understand the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students, and of being a tutor Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4, (KS5 is advantageous) and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' work Be able to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff Be able to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students Be able to communicate positively with parents, carers and other external agencies where necessary Have good written and spoken communication skills Have excellent time management skills Be able to motivate students and raise their aspirations through a range of strategies If you are interested in this English Teacher opportunity, tours & interviews can be arranged ASAP.
