Job Description
Inspector (Machinery supplies and packages) Ensure, in agreement with the Expediting & Inspection Category Manager, the Post order manager and through interaction with suppliers, the monitoring of material supplies from the perspective of technical compliance and progress, in accordance with the quality requirements and timelines required by the projects, highlighting any deviations and non-conformities, reporting or intervening in accordance with company and project objectives. Focus of the activities is mainly relevant to rotating/machinery and packages suppliers. The candidate shall be experienced on these specific typologies of material with good knowledge of the applicable international standards. A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in this field is requested. Knowledge or certification for non-destructive examination methods is also advisable. Key Activities & Responsibilities: Conduct inspection and expediting visits for the assigned suppliers and sub-suppliers and issue the related reports according to company and project procedures. Organize and chair pre-inspection meetings for assigned purchase orders/Suppliers, to define inspection activity surveillance, manage inspection notifications as per Company and project requirements. Analyze and verify, in agreement with the Expediting & Inspection Category Manager, the quality control plans (ITPs) issued by suppliers and sub-suppliers and manage the notifications for inspections (witness points/hold points etc.) for the various activities as per the agreed ITP. Review the quality control inspection procedures issued by suppliers (pressure test, mechanical running, performance test, NDE etc.) In agreement with the Expediting & Inspection Category Manager, interact and support, within the scope of competence, the Post Order team and the Procurement Managers, the Project Leaders of the technical disciplines for the different projects in which is involved. Manage the non-conformities (and punch lists), issued or to be issued in accordance to Company procedure and Projects requirements, ensuring the complete follow up until their closure. Manage relationships with the Supplier’s QA/QC Manager. Support, in agreement with the Expediting & Inspection Category Manager, the evaluation, performance, and results of assigned suppliers. Following the positive outcome of the final inspection, communicate the technical release of the material. Ensure the constant updating of sensitive data in the company management system for the supplies under his responsibility. Evaluate and make selection of Agencies Inspectors to whom assign inspection activities. Review and evaluate the inspection reports received by nominated Agencies Inspectors. Prepare all the necessary documentation for the assignment to agency inspectors, detailing the inspection tasks, with the support of the Expediting & Inspection Planners. Verify and review the final documentation (certification dossier) prepared by Suppliers during the execution of the job as per contractual requirements. Personal Attributes: Bachelor/Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in this field. Fluent English speaker and writer. Team worker and effective communicator. Availability to travel for short periods in Italy and abroad. Adaptability, entrepreneurship, and working with method.
