Job Title: Commercial Pipe Fitter Main Works Location: London, UK Job Type: Full-Time Salary: Competitive (Based on Experience) Reports To: Site Supervisor / Project Manager Company Overview: We are a leading building services contractor specializing in mechanical and electrical installations across commercial projects in London. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Commercial Pipe Fitter to join our team, focusing on the installation of pipework for fan coil units in large-scale commercial developments. Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of commercial pipework systems, primarily connected to fan coil units. The role involves working on high-profile commercial construction sites, ensuring all work meets industry standards, health and safety regulations, and project deadlines. Key Responsibilities: • Install and fit various types of commercial pipework (steel, copper, plastic) for fan coil units (FCUs) and associated systems. • Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and specifications. • Carry out pipe cutting, threading, bending, and welding as required. • Install brackets, supports, and insulation to secure pipework effectively. • Perform pressure testing and system commissioning. • Collaborate with other trades on-site to coordinate installations. • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and site procedures. • Identify and resolve installation issues to minimize project delays. • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition. Requirements: Essential: • Proven experience as a commercial pipe fitter, specifically working on fan coil unit installations. • Strong knowledge of pipework systems (LTHW, CHW, DHWS) and related components. • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics. • Skilled in welding, soldering, threading, and crimping techniques. • Valid CSCS or JIB-PMES Card. • Strong understanding of health and safety practices on construction sites. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Desirable: • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Pipe Fitting. • IPAF or PASMA certification. • Experience with prefabrication and modular installations.
