At an exciting stage of their journey, they are looking for a Finance Director to shape and deliver the financial strategy that will support their continued growth and impact. The Role As Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial leadership, partnering closely with the leadership team to deliver insightful financial strategies and operational excellence. This is a highly visible and hands-on role that encompasses full ownership of the finance function, from strategic planning and risk mitigation to day-to-day financial management. Leading a small finance team, you’ll ensure the seamless delivery of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes while fostering a culture of accuracy and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the board to shape and drive the company’s strategic direction, aligning financial insights with long-term goals. Deliver timely financial analysis and reporting to enable informed, data-driven decisions. Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans that reflect business ambitions and market dynamics. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency across the finance function. Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, supporting business planning, risk assessment, and strategic initiatives. Anticipate financial risks, identify growth opportunities, and implement strategies to strengthen the company’s position. Establish and refine financial systems to streamline reporting, improve efficiency, and support scalability. Oversee the production of management accounts, financial reports, and board packs with clear, actionable insights. Drive cash flow management, ensuring optimal liquidity to meet operational needs and support strategic objectives. Monitor key financial metrics, including cash flow, WIP, and profitability, to optimize performance and support sustainable growth. Work closely with project teams to analyse costs, review profitability, and ensure accurate client invoicing and contract terms. Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, VAT regulations, and HMRC requirements, minimizing risks and ensuring accuracy. Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including auditors, banks, and insurers. Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional growth. What We Need to See (Required): Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, QBE Considered). Experience in the design, architecture, or creative industries. Proven experience in a Finance Director or Head of Finance role. Background in project-based industries, with strong project costing and analysis expertise. Exceptional financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. What We’d Like to See (Preferred): Knowledge of financial systems such as Access Accounting or similar tools. Passion for contributing to innovative and creative environments.
