Network Performance Engineers

A world leading trading firm driven by technology are seeking a Network Performance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the systems perform at peak efficiency. The Role As a Network Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, monitoring, and optimizing the high-performance networks environment. You’ll work closely with engineers, traders, and developers to ensure that the systems meet the demands of ultra-low-latency trading environments. Key Responsibilities Network Optimization: Analyze and improve network performance to achieve the lowest possible latency and highest reliability. Monitoring: Develop and implement tools to monitor network health, performance, and usage in real time. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Collaboration: Partner with trading teams, system engineers, and developers to align network solutions with business goals. System Design: Design, configure, and deploy high-speed network solutions tailored to trading needs. Research & Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest in networking technologies and methodologies to maintain a competitive edge. What We’re Looking For Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, multicast). Proficiency with networking hardware (switches, routers, NICs) from vendors like Arista, Cisco, or Juniper. Experience with network performance tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, SolarWinds). Python coding skills. Low-Latency Focus: Knowledge of high-frequency trading (HFT) environments and the challenges of ultra-low-latency networks. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with a focus on performance bottlenecks and optimization. Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across teams. Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within a trading or financial services environment is highly desirable.
