You Are: A Business Analyst with extensive experience in the UK banking and payments domain to support the development and optimisation of business processes, ensuring alignment with UK regulations and market trends. The Opportunity : Key responsibilities will include supporting the product engineering team through the development of GenAI focused products in the banking domain. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of UK-specific payment systems, compliance frameworks (e.g., FCA, PSD2), and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders to deliver innovative and efficient solutions. Role responsibilities include: Requirement Gathering & Analysis - Engage with stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritise requirements for banking capabilities, systems and processes. Conduct detailed analysis to identify inefficiencies, gaps, or opportunities for improvement in existing banking / payment workflows. Payments Domain Expertise - Lead the design and optimisation of processes relevant to UK payment schemes like BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments, and emerging real-time payment systems. Provide insights into international payment standards, including SWIFT, SEPA, and cross-border transaction requirements. Ensure compliance with UK and EU regulatory standards, including FCA guidelines, PSD2, AML, and ISO 20022 migration. Business Process Development - Develop and implement business process frameworks for banking systems to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance customer experience. Map, model, and document end-to-end banking/payment processes using industry-standard tools (e.g., MS Visio, Lucid Chart). Drive automation opportunities in payment reconciliation, settlements, and reporting processes. Stakeholder Collaboration & Solution Design - Collaborate with internal teams and technology groups to translate business needs into actionable technical solutions. Partner with IT to assess and understand new payment technologies, ensuring scalability and regulatory compliance. Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to prioritise and validate requirements. Testing, Implementation & Change Management - Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure that payment solutions align with business goals and customer needs. Lead change management initiatives, including training and onboarding for teams impacted by new payment processes or technologies. Regulatory & Market Awareness - Monitor and adapt to changes in the UK payments landscape, including updates from regulatory bodies, technological advancements, and market trends. What you need : Proven experience (5 years) as a Business Analyst in the UK banking and payments domain. In-depth knowledge of UK payment schemes (e.g., Faster Payments, BACS, CHAPS). Strong understanding of compliance requirements, including FCA regulations, PSD2, AML, GDPR, and ISO 20022 standards. Hands-on experience in developing, documenting, and optimising business processes in banking / payments. Familiarity with UK-specific financial systems, including Open Banking APIs and instant payment platforms.
