Capital Accountant

Our client:A dynamic housing association based in Kings Cross, London. Their mission is to provide high-quality, affordable housing and support services to our community. We are currently seeking a skilled Capital Accountant to join the team on a 6-month contract.Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain the capital assets register, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards. Perform regular reconciliations of capital asset accounts. Prepare and review depreciation calculations and schedules. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports related to capital assets. Conduct periodic physical verification of capital assets. Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper recording and tracking of capital assets. Provide support during audits and respond to auditor queries related to capital assets. Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies. Requirements: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Proven experience in managing fixed assets within a similar role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards related to capital assets. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
