Junior Data Engineer – Johannesburg - R380k to R480k per annum

A leading African Integrated Workplace Management Solutions Provider with over 50-years of experience are looking for a junior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems to support analytics and reporting as well as ensure data quality, integration, and governance to enable business insights. Responsibilities: Data Engineering: Develop and optimize data pipelines for efficient processing. Maintain data marts and ensure consistency across systems. Data Integration & Governance: Manage ETL processes, ensuring data integrity and alignment with governance standards. Document source-target mappings and perform data validation checks. Visualization & Reporting: Create Power BI dashboards for business insights. Continuously improve visualization tools for accessibility. Collaboration & Support: Work with IT, business units, and data scientists to meet analytics needs. Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues promptly. Qualifications & Experience: Diploma in Informatics, Statistics, Data Engineering, or related (BSc/BCom advantageous). 2 years with Azure Synapse or AWS. Proficient in Python, SQL, Power BI and SSIS ETL. Experience in dimensional modelling (Ralph Kimball methodologies preferred). Power BI skills (DAX) and familiarity with data governance and validation. Advantageous: Data Bricks, Power Apps, Power Automate.
