Your understanding of building regulations and compliance is thorough, complemented by a deep knowledge of the construction industry and site operations. You are skilled at leading and supporting repair teams, optimizing their performance to boost customer satisfaction and efficiency. You're adept with statutory health & safety legislation, implementing rigorous risk assessments and method statement procedures. Your ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, is essential, and you're familiar with using mobile technology for modern operations. You can handle supervisory quality control post-inspections, ensuring your team meets established quality standards. The role demands flexibility, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rota, attending evening and weekend meetings, and adapting to community needs for emergency responses. An enhanced DBS check is required for this position. What the Job Involves The position of Repairs Supervisor involves overseeing a team of high-performing repair operatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality work and efficient material usage. You'll handle complex diagnostic tasks and coordinate multi-trade repair projects affecting multiple properties, demonstrating proficient skills in carpentry, plumbing, decorating, plastering, and tiling. Regular tasks include holding toolbox talks, conducting one-on-one meetings with operatives, and performing pre-and post-inspections on tenanted properties. You'll manage the void team, ensuring voids are completed on schedule, and attend evening tenant association meetings to maintain responsiveness to both internal and external customer needs. Compliance with health and safety rules and regulations in all work activities is paramount. As part of your responsibilities, you'll contribute to the overall objectives and development of the service area, focus on improving customer relations, and ensure a positive image of the Council is consistently portrayed. You will also manage the revenue budget effectively, oversee up to 12 direct reports including multi-trade operatives, and ensure the security and safety of allocated vehicles and materials.
