Job Description

A leading US law firm is looking for an experienced Conflicts Lawyer to join the in-house global Risk team in their London office. The ideal candidate for the Conflicts Lawyer role will have a strong understanding of US conflicts and business intake processes. Key Responsibilities for the Conflicts Lawyer role: Review and analyse conflict check reports prepared during the business intake and new hire processes. Provide detailed advice to partners and collaborate on conflict resolution. Draft conflict waivers, facilitate related requests, and maintain accurate waiver records within the firm’s systems. Analyse conflicts related to new hires, advise partners, and counsel new joiners on conflict issues. Establish and maintain legal screens and ethical walls as needed. Provide direction to risk analysts on corporate family research and best practices in preparing conflict check reports. Respond to attorney and staff inquiries about conflicts of interest, business intake policies, and related firm policies. Qualifications: Qualified solicitor with experience in a top-tier commercial law firm specialising in conflict matters. US conflicts experience is essential Proven expertise in managing conflicts in a legal environment. Familiarity with InTapp or similar conflict checking systems is a plus. Skilled at working with senior stakeholders and providing confident, commercial advice.
