Senior Data Engineer - Python/C# and AWS - Paris, France HQ Crypto Trading Asset Manager using Kdb database, AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres, and programming in either Python or C# We are in search of an exceptional Senior Data Engineer with a minimum of 4 years’ experience, poised to significantly contribute to the design and oversight of our data infrastructure, crucial for powering our daily business operations. Our technology stack includes Kdb database, AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres, and programming in either Python or C#, focused on ensuring system security, efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Position Overview - Senior Data Engineer: Reporting directly to the Head of Infrastructure and Security, your duties will encompass: The design, development, testing, and documentation of all new or altered BI systems and infrastructure. The safe and effective integration of internal data sources (SQL, S3, Flat Files, etc.), with a strict adherence to protecting customer PII. The sourcing and integration of external information relevant to our operational reporting. The development and oversight of analytical methods, techniques, and capabilities to facilitate data analysis, insight generation, value creation, and informed decision-making. Provision of a consolidated and dependable data source for global operations, customer service, and client success teams. Maintenance and troubleshooting of BI tools, systems, and software. Analysis across various data warehouses to identify and interpret trends. Candidate Profile for the Senior Data Engineer: 6 years of experience in data analysis or engineering within the BI domain. Proficient in SQL with substantial experience in Postgres, including but not limited to: Core SQL components (joins, unions, grouping/sorting, indexes). Transaction handling, isolation levels and types of locks. Table inheritance, views, CTEs, prepared statements, and window functions. Performance tuning and troubleshooting. Demonstrated expertise in managing, scaling, and leveraging AWS services and Kdb databases for OLAP workloads. Proficiency in data warehouse design, operation, and management. Skilled in managing and synthesizing global data sources. Experience with AWS, Infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes, and DevOps methodologies is highly advantageous.
