Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to join our team. The Safety Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment by implementing and monitoring safety programs and policies amongst our Canadian locations. This person will also assist in managing our Ontario and Quebec Workers Compensation Claims. Heavy travel role 50% of the time. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions: Conduct Accident and Incident Investigations, and OHNS reporting Facilitates productive discussions among employees and management relative to safe workplace practices. Assist in managing Workers Compensation Claims in Ontario and Quebec. Identifies and implements new safety outreach and education strategies and approaches. Requests and collects employee feedback and suggestions on safety procedures. Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems. Conducts or facilitates employee training on applicable safety standards. Reviews current safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates. Conducts safety inspections and audits. Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings. Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections. Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics. Monitors compliance with safety procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bilingual in English and French prefferred Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies. Familiar with company safety policies and applicable Canadian Occupational health and Safety Regulations (OHNS) standards. Knowledge of Workers Compensation Claim rules and guidelines in Ontario and Quebec, including government agencies, medical insurance, etc. Ability to conduct training. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections. Bachelors degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required; Five years of related experience preferred.
