And that’s where you come in. Job Description: Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Commissioning Onboard Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Naples, Italy. Accountabilities: Commissioning technician for the various on-board signalling systems ERTMS, SCMT and SSC supplied by Hitachi Rail STS. Customer assistance and support during line trials and integration tests. Ability to manage all installation and commissioning activities of various projects. Required Skills/Knowledge: At least 2/3 years' experience on Hitachi Rail STS on-board signalling systems (ERTMS/SCMT/SSC). Office package (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), editing software. Knowledge of electrical and topographical diagrams of the various Hitachi Rail STS (ERTMS/SCMT/SSC) signalling systems, with particular attention to signals interfacing with the train electrical system. Knowledge of the mechanical installation drawings of the various Hitachi Rail STS (ERTMS/SCMT/SSC) signalling systems. Use of basic instrumentation multimeter, ammeter, RSC code generator, tachometer pulse simulator, etc. Use of basic tools for making electrical connections and wiring harnesses (including connectors) according to instructions received from engineering. Use of software loading tools provided by Hitachi Rail STS. Ability to locate and resolve any problems between the signalling system and the train interface that may arise during Test & Commissioning activities. Compilation and issue of commissioning reports. Knowledge of site safety aspects. Good communication skills. Teamwork and flexibility. Adaptation to change. Direct collaboration with other site teams. Education/Qualification: High School diploma or degree in Electronics/Electrotechnics. Languages: English intermediate proficiency.
