Fulcrum Digital - Senior Performance/Automation Tester

About the Role : We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Quality Engineer with a strong foundation in performance testing and a passion for automation. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the quality and performance of our software solutions. Responsibilities : - Actively participate in requirements gathering, test planning, test scenario/case creation, and test data creation. - Execute testing plans in accordance with established standards, processes, and best practices. - Collaborate with the project team to meet deadlines while proactively identifying and resolving issues. - Design and develop comprehensive test automation suites for APIs, UI, performance, compatibility, and security testing. - Implement complex automation efforts, including code refactoring as needed. - Conduct both automated and manual exploratory testing to validate software against business, security, and established quality requirements. - Generate and maintain test data for defined test cases. - Manage and oversee defect tracking and escalation. - Translate complex system requirements into detailed test requirements and testing methodologies. - Develop and maintain clean, high-quality automated test scripts. - Champion best quality testing practices for cloud-native applications, adhering to 12-factor principles. - Demonstrate a strong understanding of automated test suites and service layer automation testing. - Analyze user stories to understand testing requirements at all levels (unit, functional, integration, smoke, regression). - Drive best practices in Quality Assurance, including Functional Testing, Exploratory Testing, and the adoption of Development Services (Development Collaboration, CI/CD). - Advocate for and implement acceptance test automation, quality gating reviews, and continuous integration. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product) to optimize automation workflows. - Actively participate in scrum activities and discussions with Product/Business stakeholders. Skills & Qualifications : - Programming Languages : Strong proficiency in Java and Python for writing automated tests and APIs. - Performance Testing Tools : Expertise with JMeter, Gatling, or similar tools. - Test Automation Frameworks : Proven experience with frameworks like Karate, Rest Assured, Cucumber, or equivalent. - DevOps : Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins for integrating automated tests into the pipeline. - Performance Testing : Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze performance metrics, generate reports, and recommend performance improvements. - API Testing : In-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs, SOAP, and web services testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, and custom scripts. - Bug Tracking & Reporting : Experience with issue tracking systems (e., Jira) and creating clear, concise test reports. - 6 years of relevant experience in software testing (ref:hirist.tech)
