Data Modeler - Python/Power BI

Role : Data Modeler Job Overview : As a Data Modeler specializing in Azure, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining both relational and non-relational data models. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data architectures meet business needs. Key Responsibilities : - Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for both relational (e.g., SQL Database) and non-relational (e.g., Cosmos DB) databases in Azure. - Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into data models. - Implement best practices in data modeling, focusing on performance, scalability, and maintainability. - Optimize data structures for efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis, ensuring data integrity and security. - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, data flows, and metadata management. - Support data integration efforts with ETL tools and ensure seamless data movement across various systems. - Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in Azure data technologies, relational and non-relational databases. Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Proven experience in data modeling for both relational and non-relational databases, particularly in Azure. - Proficiency in Azure services such as Azure Fabric, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Data Factory. - Strong understanding of database design principles and data governance practices. - Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is a plus. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. - Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams. Preferred Skills : - Knowledge of cloud-based data architecture patterns and data integration strategies. - Familiarity with Data Governance tools like Collibra and ETL/ELT processes and tools. - Experience in agile methodologies and project management. Technical Skills : - Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, IBM InfoSphere, Microsoft Visio). - Strong knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL). - Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes. - Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus. - Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python) is preferred. Knowledge of Methodologies : - Experience with data modeling methodologies (e.g., Entity-Relationship Models, Star Schema, Snowflake Schema). - Familiarity with data governance practices and data security standards. - Analytical Skills : Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data-related issues and provide effective solutions. - Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. - Attention to Detail : Ability to maintain accuracy and integrity in large data sets and complex data models. Preferred Qualifications : - Master's degree in a relevant field. - Certification in data management or data modeling (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional - CDMP). - Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
