Job Description
Job Purpose: As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day bookkeeping activities of our company. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of our financial records by following consistent and efficient bookkeeping processes. With your expertise in accrual accounting and GAAP standards, you will contribute to improved decision-making and help us achieve our strategic objectives. Responsibilities: Execute day-to-day accrual accounting functions, including the preparation of financial statements and reports with a strong emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. Perform regular audits of financial records to identify discrepancies promptly and ensure both accuracy and timeliness. Maintain up-to-date and precise records of all financial transactions, such as deferred revenue, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, delivering them on schedule. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, such as GAAP and IFRS. Manage the payroll process and maintain accurate employee records. Collaborate with external auditors and other financial professionals as necessary, providing them with accurate information. Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support as required. Specific Measures of Success – Expected Outcomes: Perform weekly or bi-monthly reconciliations and updates for receivables and payables accurately and in a timely manner. Account for and reconcile prepaid and accrued line items related to invoicing and payments. Track salaries, payroll taxes, and employee expense reimbursements accurately. Maintain accurate records of recurring revenue and update the books accordingly for deferred revenue. Ensure accurate month-end close by closing the books prior to or on the 30th of each month. Deliver financial statements for the previous month by the 3rd of the upcoming month. Qualifications: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures, including GAAP and IFRS. Proficiency in MS Excel, Google Sheets, and accounting software such as Xero, Zoho, and QuickBooks. Solid conceptual understanding of accrual accounting principles. Familiarity with accounting procedures for M&A and the consolidation of financial statements. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA or equivalent qualification. 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment.
