Commissioning Engineer

The role of Commissioning Engineer (CE) in Dematic involves commissioning new Crossbelt Sorter systems as well as modernization activities for existing systems. What we offer: Career Development Competitive Compensation And Benefits Pay Transparency Global Opportunities Tasks and Qualifications: Key Responsibilities: Perform offline commissioning by powering on systems, conducting electrical checks, configuring parameters, and ensuring basic standalone functionality. Carry out online commissioning , integrating systems into logistics platforms and overseeing interface tests with other systems as per specifications. Manage acceptance testing , ensuring all contractual performance requirements are met before handing over the system to the customer. Provide support during production , monitoring the system, assisting the client, and analyzing production data for optimization. Plan and execute modernization activities for systems in production, ensuring compliance with timelines and system availability. Adhere to and promote safety procedures , ensuring a safe working environment. Regularly update commissioning checklists and provide progress feedback to stakeholders. Identify and communicate potential risks or delays in the commissioning process to relevant teams. Support office-based activities , such as preparatory phases for modernization or assisting with subsystem acceptance testing. Required Knowledge and Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience with sortation systems. Knowledge of electrical and software design principles. Proficiency in English (written and spoken). Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings . Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens, Rockwell). Nice to have: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Automation). Prior experience in a similar commissioning role. Familiarity with C programming language . Ability to use Python to extract and analyze data from text logs. Experience with platforms like Grafana for data visualization and monitoring. Work Environment and Expectations: The role involves both on-site and office work. The CE must demonstrate flexibility, attention to detail, and adherence to strict timelines.
