Commercial Manager

We are working with one of the UK’s leading construction and civil engineering groups. They are growing their regional rail infrastructure business, based upon securing several contracts and framework wins, and therefore have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager. The Commercial Lead will take full commercial responsibility and ownership for multiple projects, working closely with the Project Managers to ensure a successful project delivery while maintaining relationships, maximising commercial returns, and managing risk. This opportunity will offer the successful candidate a pivotal role within one of the UK’s leading contractors at a time of significant growth within the business and therefore the potential for real career progression. Responsibilities: Liaise with the customer, his representatives, and other third parties on commercial issues, including the agreement of additional funds. Cost and value management for the project, ensuring appropriate systems and procedures are in place Financial reporting for the project Change management for the project: Record changes and allocate responsibility. Risk and opportunity management for the project: management (with operations team) of known and newly identified risks and opportunities for best project return as well as identification and implementation of mitigation measures Manage commercial team to ensure delivery of key responsibilities and develop their knowledge Qualifications: Membership of a Professional Institution - such as SCSI or RICS Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) Minor project work – building and civils Work Winning Reviewing T&C’s Managing and reporting on a portfolio of work Developing a team
