Company Accountant | Carryduff Annual Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 Location: Carryduff Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Reed Finance has been appointed to recruit a Company Accountant to join our commercial client's team. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health and growth of the business and is available due to the retirement of a long-serving staff member. The successful candidate will partner with the General Manager to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency across the company. Day-to-day of the role: Liaise with the General Manager to produce monthly management accounts, financial and cash flow forecasts. Maintain the General Ledger and the Fixed Asset Register. Play a key role in year-end financial audits. Assist the General Manager with 'job costing' on opportunities to ensure desired margins are achievable. Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions. Handle payroll processing and reconcile payroll taxes. Conduct bank, debtors, and creditors reconciliations to ensure accurate month and year-end closings. Prepare journal entries and accruals. Manage HMRC returns related to VAT and Payroll and liaise with auditors on CT returns. Provide client payment terms on jobs, in conjunction with the General Manager. Manage monthly and yearly stock counts. Liaise with the company's insurance broker regarding fleet and commercial cover. Monitor tender opportunities and assist with tender applications. Manage the company purchase order system, including the issuing and processing of POs with signoff from the General Manager. Required Skills & Qualifications: Qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in a similar role. Competent IT skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with SAGE Accounting and Payroll software is an advantage. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivated and flexible with working hours to complete tasks and capable of working to deadlines.
