If so, we might have just the opportunity for you The Role Loom Talent have been exclusively engaged to source a Head of Warehouse Automation role, working for a well established, reputable, growing 3PL firm. This person will assume responsibility for the groups UK Solutions Design Automation & Innovation strategy, Capex investment and leadership of the internal department. The Head of Warehouse Automation will be at the forefront of warehouse biased automation projects, collaborating with industry-leading manufacturers, integrators and internal DC based site teams - whilst ensuring the customer themselves feel at the heart of bespoke, futuristic and cutting-edge solutions. Your expertise will help drive efficiency throughout your team and transform the way the company operates. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and assess current warehouse operations and work flows to identify improvement opportunities. Analyse customer requirements, including operational data and tender documentation. Identify and propose opportunities for automation and process enhancement. Develop tailored automation strategies and solutions to meet the unique needs of each warehouse. Design warehouse solutions, considering the latest technology, automation options, and industry best practices. This includes: Warehouse processes Layouts Equipment IT integration Provide detailed financial and operational comparisons for alternative solutions, including risk assessments. Prepare tender response documents and deliver compelling presentations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, operations, logistics) to ensure smooth implementation of automation technologies. Monitor and evaluate the performance of automation solutions post-implementation, making adjustments where required. Stay updated on advancements and trends in warehouse automation to continuously bring innovative ideas to the table. The Candidate A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background - Essential. To be Degree educated, with a field preference of Logistics, Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering - Advantageous. A minimum of 7 years leadership experience in automated solutions design or operational warehouse automation project capacity - Essential. A strong delivery background in design and implementation of automation solutions - Essential. In-depth knowledge of automation technologies (e.g. AMR's, AGV's, Robotics, AI, Conveyor Systems) - Essential. Continuous Improvement / Lean Six Sigma knowledge - Advantageous. Technically proficient using advanced Microsoft Office Excel functionality (macros; pivot tables; data links; lookups; etc.) with the ability to deal with complex data management - Essential. Ability to use warehouse / automation simulation tools e.g. CLASS - Advantageous. Confident communicating with Senior Management, Key Stakeholders and customers up to and including Board Level - Essential. Exceptional project management and problem-solving skills, whilst capable of working under pressure to meet critical deadlines and complete objectives - Essential. Excellent communication and leadership abilities - Essential. To have the ability to travel UK wide, with a preference of being based from Head Office (Leicestershire) for 2 x days per week - Essential. The Package Salary - £100,000 to £120,000.
