Mainframe Developer - JCL/COBOL

Position : Mainframe Developer Location : Bangalore Experience : 6 Years Job Description : We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mainframe technologies and will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining mainframe applications. Key Responsibilities : - Design, develop, test, and implement mainframe applications using languages such as COBOL, JCL, and DB2. - Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. - Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications and environments. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical solutions. - Participate in system design and architecture discussions. - Optimize performance of existing applications and database queries. - Provide support during production deployments and resolve any post-deployment issues. Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - 6 years of experience in mainframe development with a strong focus on COBOL, JCL, and DB2. - Proficiency in debugging and performance tuning of mainframe applications. - Experience with tools such as CICS, VSAM, and MQ Series is a plus. - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Preferred Skills : - Experience with Cloud integration and modern mainframe technologies. - Knowledge of mainframe modernization practices. - Certification in relevant technologies is an advantage (ref:hirist.tech)
