Database Administrator - SQL Server

TITLE : SQL-DBA Location : Delhi Job Description : 1. Having eyes on glass 24/7 to enable swift response to any alerts or anomalies 2. Should be open to work in shift timings to support production environments 3. Database maintenance (Install, configure, and upgrade database software, performing regular backups. Monitoring databases, file growth & disk space usage, implementing monitoring alerts and notifications to proactively identify and address potential issues) 4. Performance tuning & optimization (Identifying & resolving performance bottlenecks using monitoring tools & techniques, analyzing query execution & optimizing T-SQL queries for enhanced performance, data archiving, purging as per mutually agreed data retention policy) 5. Troubleshooting and Support (Diagnosing and resolving database-related issues, such as performance degradation, deadlock analysis etc.) 6. Collaborating with other IT teams to troubleshoot cross-functional issues & providing technical support and guidance to data engineers 7. Automation and Scripting (e.g. Automating routine tasks such as database backups, index maintenance, and database health checks) 8. Security Management 9. High Availability & Disaster recovery 10. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing Qualifications we seek in you : Minimum Qualifications / Skills : 1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field 2. experience in Data Engineering areas with minimum hands-on coding experience & mandatory experience in leading production support environments 3. TSQL Expert with in-depth knowledge of monitoring & optimization databases 4. Proficient on OLTP / OLAP / ER Diagrams / Internal Engine / Index Tuning / Statistics / Execution Plans / SP Optimization / Partitioning / Normalization / Denormalization 5. Agile Development Process, Release Management & Continuous Integration & deployment knowledge 6. Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, Snowflake are good to have 7. Having been in Pager duty and/or managed people in pager duty is a good to have. (ref:hirist.tech)
