Procurement Leader

Pacific International Executive Search has been exclusively retained to assist our client, Fysol, an innovative market leader in the glass fibre industry in Europe. With decades of experience in glass fiber production, Fysol is committed to delivering high-quality products and exceptional solutions to their customers. We are seeking a proactive and experienced Procurement Leader to join the team in Chambéry, France. This critical role will play a key part in strengthening procurement processes and supporting our business strategy to optimize costs, enhance supplier relationships, and secure high-quality materials and services. Reporting directly to the Business Director , this hands-on position requires a strong negotiator with a technical mindset and expertise in procurement strategies. Key Responsibilities : Procurement Strategy and Process Improvement Supplier Management Category Management Internal Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Quality, Supply Chain, and Production, to align procurement activities with operational needs. Reporting and Compliance to maintain accurate records of procurement activities Hands-On Leadership and taking ownership of tasks Limited travel (1–2 days per week) within Europe. Qualifications : 7 years of experience in procurement, with a proven track record in managing supplier portfolios, launching tenders, and negotiating contracts. Expertise in chemicals , packaging , transport , or services (proficiency in at least 2 is required). Fluent in French and English (additional European languages are a plus). Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and "outside the box." Knowledge of glass theory is a plus but not mandatory. Ability to manage complex projects, including risk assessment and supplier performance improvement. Proactive and hands-on leadership style, with the capacity to work independently and under pressure. Master’s degree in business, Procurement, or a related field. A background in engineering or economics is highly desirable.
