Job Title : Azure Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer Job Location : Coimbatore Exp : 6 Job Type : Contract Job Overview : We are seeking an experienced Azure Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing backup and disaster recovery solutions within Azure cloud environments. This position requires in-depth knowledge of Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and other cloud-based disaster recovery tools to ensure data protection, business continuity, and high availability for our critical workloads. Key Responsibilities : - Design, implement, and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions in Azure to meet business continuity objectives. - Oversee the implementation of Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and Recovery Services Vault for virtual machines, databases, and file servers. - Develop and maintain backup strategies, ensuring retention policies, encryption, and compliance with data protection practices. - Manage hybrid cloud and multi-cloud disaster recovery solutions to ensure seamless failover and recovery for critical workloads. - Automate backup and recovery processes using PowerShell or Azure CLI scripting to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. - Perform routine testing of disaster recovery solutions to ensure data protection and recovery capabilities. - Integrate third-party backup tools such as Veeam, Commvault, or NetApp with Azure for enhanced backup solutions. - Collaborate with teams to define business continuity plans, recovery strategies, and application-specific recovery requirements. - Manage and optimize Azure storage services, including Blob Storage, Disk Storage, and Azure Files, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability. - Provide technical support and troubleshooting for backup and disaster recovery related issues. - Maintain documentation related to backup configurations, disaster recovery plans, and processes. Required Skills & Qualifications : - Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Experience : 5 years of experience working with backup and disaster recovery solutions in Azure. - Hands-on experience with Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and Recovery Services Vault. - Expertise in designing and implementing backup strategies for virtual machines, databases, and file servers in Azure. - Proficiency in hybrid cloud and multi-cloud disaster recovery strategies. - Strong knowledge of backup retention policies, encryption practices, and data protection methodologies. - Experience in PowerShell or Azure CLI scripting to automate backup and recovery processes. - Azure certifications, such as Microsoft Certified : Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Microsoft Certified : Azure Security Engineer Associate, are a plus. - Experience integrating third-party backup tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, NetApp) with Azure. - In-depth understanding of business continuity planning, disaster recovery, and recovery strategies for mission-critical applications. - Familiarity with Azure storage services, including Blob Storage, Disk Storage, and Azure Files. Soft Skills : - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on troubleshooting and optimizing backup processes. - Excellent communication skills for effectively explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. - Proactive mindset with a strong commitment to continuous improvement, process automation, and operational efficiency.
