Senior HVAC Engineer

Overview: We are seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to join our Clients HVAC Capability team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in HVAC and Building Services, preferably with a focus on nuclear standards and processes. You will play a vital role in designing and modifying HVAC systems while confidently engaging with clients and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Report to the HVAC Manager/Principal Engineer. Collaborate within a Building Services engineering design consultancy environment. Uphold quality assurance and business management practices. Communicate effectively with team members and clients. Explore innovative HVAC solutions while maintaining commercial viability. Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude. Contribute as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Travel as needed within the UK. Essential Qualifications and Skills: Minimum HND in Building Services Engineering or at least 10 years of HVAC design experience. Knowledge of UK regulations is essential. Experience in design deliverables for HVAC systems, including: Air change rate calculations Duct sizing and pressure loss calculations Development of HVAC Fire and Control Philosophy Ventilation system design for industrial environments Familiarity with nuclear standards and procedures is preferred (e.g., EG_0_1738_1 - Ventilation of Radioactive Areas). Proficient in HVAC design software (Hevacomp, OpenBuildings, AutoCAD, Revit) and MS Office applications. Experience producing documentation such as Functional Specifications and Validation Plans. Previous experience mentoring junior staff in nuclear ventilation design. Desirable Experience: Thermal modelling expertise. Knowledge of steam and condensate processes. BPSS security clearance (SC preferred).
