About the Position: We are seeking an experienced Travel Med Surge Telemetry RN for one of our esteemed clients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the core specialty and experience working with adult or geriatric populations. Responsibilities: Patient Assessment: Performing comprehensive assessments to gather information about a patient's medical history, current condition, and needs before and after surgery. Preoperative Preparation: Preparing patients for surgery by explaining procedures, obtaining informed consent, administering pre-operative medications, and managing anxieties. Medication Administration: Administering medications as prescribed by the physician, monitoring for side effects, and documenting medication administration accurately. Vital Signs Monitoring: Regularly monitoring patient vital signs like heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, and temperature to detect any abnormalities. Wound Care Management: Assessing and cleaning surgical wounds, applying dressings, and monitoring for signs of infection. Postoperative Care: Assessing patient recovery after surgery, managing pain, monitoring drainage, and providing comfort measures. Patient Education: Educating patients and their families about their condition, surgical procedures, post-operative care instructions, and discharge planning. Communication and Collaboration: Collaborating with other healthcare professionals like surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other nurses to ensure coordinated patient care. Documentation: Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records including assessments, interventions, medications, and progress notes. Care Planning: Developing individualized care plans based on patient needs and assessment findings.
