Job Description
Key Responsibilities: Financial Control & Reporting: Full responsibility for the preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting deadlines. Oversee all financial transactions and accounting practices. Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and internal policies. Preparation of annual financial statements and liaison with external auditors. Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop, implement, and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections. Provide variance analysis with actionable recommendations. Collaborate with departmental heads to ensure alignment between operational plans and financial goals. Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow management and forecasting. Optimise working capital and manage banking relationships. Strategic Financial Planning: Support senior management with financial insights and analysis to inform strategic decisions. Evaluate financial performance by comparing actual results with budgets and prior periods. Controls & Compliance: Strengthen internal controls and processes to mitigate financial risks. Implement policies and procedures ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration. Ensure the team is appropriately skilled and resourced. Stakeholder Management: Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, banks, SARS, and other regulatory bodies. Regular interaction with executive management, providing financial guidance and support. Key Requirements: CA(SA) qualification essential. 2 - 6 years post-articles experience. Strong financial aptitude with a proven ability to manage all financial aspects of a business. Ability to work in a high-pressure environment. Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, proactive approach. Resilient with the ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Core Competencies: Strong technical accounting knowledge. Commercially astute with excellent financial modelling skills. High level of integrity and ethical standards. Strong leadership and people management skills. Ability to operate both strategically and operationally. Resilient, decisive, and adaptable.
