Job Description
A leading independent power producer, operating and developing power projects in Africa is Looking for a Senior Accounts Administrator based in Claremont Cape Town. The role of the Senior Accounts Administrator is to support the finance team in ensuring accuracy and compliance with company guidelines with regard to accounting and reporting policies and procedures relating to Accounts Payable and Cash Books. The role is responsible for the day to management of the Accounts Payable and Cash Book functions and includes the supervision and management of the Accounts Administrators. Main Responsibilities (this list is not exhaustive) 1. Accounts Payable · Accounts payable super user including managing and supporting the new vendor process on the ERP system · Matching of invoices to purchase orders · Maintaining a list of all open purchase orders and following up regularly on them to close them out · Loading of payments onto the banking systems for release · Completing the necessary foreign payment application forms (BOP Forms) · Processing cash claims Loading of beneficiaries onto bank accounts. 2. Cash Books · Ensure that all transactions are processed on the bank accounts e.g. payment runs, bank charges, and interest. · Close off Cashbook · Prepare bank reconciliation for all bank accounts · Download and save monthly Bank statements for all bank accounts · Complete the necessary application forms or notifications to the bank for any changes to bank accounts including opening and closing of accounts or changes to users. 3. Credit Card Claims · Oversee the receipt and delivery of credit card statements and uploading of transactions in the ERP system · Processing and ensuring that credit card transactions are accurately and timeously recorded in the accounts once approved by the line manager · Follow up, and where necessary, investigate outstanding claims · Maintain an up to date list of outstanding claims (credit card recons) · Ensure policy is adhered to and provide training to new joiners · Complete the necessary application forms or notifications to the bank for any changes including additional cards, cancellation of cards, or amendments to credit limits. 4. General accounting and administrative requirements in the department · Administration of fuel cards · Ensure that the vendor list is up to date including up to date banking details and BBBEE certificates · Any other ad hoc finance responsibilities in support of the group, as appropriate. Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications 1. National Diploma / BTech / B Comm or similar qualification with Accounting or Finance as a major, or NQF equivalent qualification. 2. Minimum 4 years relevant working experience, with minimum 2 years experience supervising a team in an accounts payable environment. 3. An environment with foreign currency payments. 4. Experience in online banking is required. 5. Relevant working experience with an accounting package (e.g. SAP, Pastel, AccPac, IFS, etc.) is required. 6. Basic knowledge and understanding of BBBEE reporting (advantageous). 7. Experience in a shared services environment is an advantage. 8. Experience in a multi-company or multi-entity is an advantage.
