Assistant Accountant

TPF Recruitment is recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a fantastic accountancy practice based near Folkestone. You will be responsible for accounts, tax, bookkeeping and VAT returns for a varied client base across Kent and the South-East. You will carve a key role here, adding value to clients and building relationships, within a growing team and firm. This very successful firm of chartered accountants, based near Folkestone has developed a strong reputation for delivering quality services, along with building strong relationships with its varied client base. The firm offers a very supportive and team focused environment, reflected by a very low staff turnover and long serving staff. This is a stable, long-term position offering the candidate an opportunity to settle into a well-defined role. The role provides ample exposure to all areas of accounting and bookkeeping and the opportunity to develop your technical skills. The primary focus will be on maintaining a consistent, high-quality level of service for clients. Prepare accounts from client records using a variety of software Draft basic tax computations and complete personal tax returns Prepare monthly bookkeeping, management accounts and VAT returns where appropriate Deal with initial queries on accounts and liaise with clients in a professional manger Support the partners with ad hoc project work Requirements Assistant Accountant Folkestone You may be AAT studying, qualified, or qualified by experience. You will have anything from 3 - 5 years experience within a client-facing capacity Experience of software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Kashflow etc. would be advantageous.
