Engineering Manager - IT Project Delivery

Primary Responsibilities : - Evolve the team's charter and align it with SQI's strategic objectives. - Collaborate with business leaders and product managers to define product requirements and roadmaps. - Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the product lifecycle. - Drive the adoption of best practices for software development and operational excellence. - Prioritize, communicate, maintain, and execute roadmaps, project plans, and commitments. - Work with engineers to define technical requirements, architect solutions, and implement them in an agile environment. - Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of projects. - Own and improve operational metrics related to the big data infrastructure. - Recruit, hire, and onboard top-tier software engineering talent. - Mentor, coach, and develop team members to maximize their potential. - Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture. - Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback. - Provide hands-on technical guidance and expertise as needed. - Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in big data, distributed systems, and cloud computing. - Influence architectural decisions and ensure the scalability and reliability of the infrastructure. - Ensure the team is delivering a world class customer experience. Required Skills and Experience : - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Proven experience as an Engineering Manager,1 preferably in a big data or distributed systems environment. - Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices. - Experience with building and maintaining internet-scale infrastructure. Proficiency in at least some of the following technologies : - Backend : Java, Python, NodeJS (Node.js) - Experience with big data technologies (e., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and cloud platforms (e., AWS, GCP, Azure) is highly desirable. - Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e., Docker, Kubernetes). - Experience with mobile developement is a plus, Android Development and iOS App Development. - Excellent project management and communication skills. - Proven ability to lead and motivate high-performing teams. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Experience with Agile development methodologies.
