Export Sales Engineer - Bellville

Job Purpose: The Export Sales Engineer will play a key role in driving new boiler orders , maintaining client relationships, and identifying new market opportunities . This position requires a technically proficient, commercially savvy, and results-driven professional who can navigate the complexities of B2B sales in capital-intensive industries . Working closely with engineering, procurement, factory, and service teams , the role ensures the delivery of technically sound and commercially viable solutions that meet customer needs. The ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure to meet tender deadlines, and close sales is essential. Key Responsibilities: Maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers to generate enquiries. Identify and develop new market segments, customer groups, and industries for business growth. Plan and execute marketing strategies to enhance business visibility. Review customer specifications and commercial conditions to develop technically sound solutions . Collaborate with internal departments, including engineering, procurement, drawing office, and factory teams , to align on project requirements. Prepare cost estimates, project timelines, and supplier purchase enquiries . Draft technical and commercial proposals in accordance with company standards. Follow up on tenders, negotiate contracts, and secure orders . Issue order confirmations and oversee the handover process to the Contracts Department . Monitor market trends and developments to refine the sales strategy. Key Competencies & Skills: Proven ability to achieve sales targets and expand market presence. Strong technical understanding of thermal energy, steam, and hot water systems . Ability to translate customer requirements into technically and commercially viable solutions . Excellent persuasion, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work efficiently . Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and as part of a team . Passion for technical products and processes , with a strong willingness to learn and adapt. Willingness to travel regularly , both locally and internationally, particularly within Africa. Minimum Requirements: Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering . Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within the engineering or industrial sector . Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) . Experience in B2B sales, marketing, or business development in capital-intensive industries. Familiarity with consulting, design, contracting, and project coordination . Experience with CRM and marketing systems . Additional Information: The role will require regular travel both locally and internationally, particularly within Africa.
