Senior Environmental Consultant (Mine Closure)

Our client is seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant with a focus on Mine Closure to join their Johannesburg office. This role requires proven project management skills, including budgeting, proposal development, and client liaison, as well as the ability to manage multiple mine closure projects and environmental assessments. Responsibilities: · Oversee the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Basic Assessment Reports (BARs), and Waste Management Licenses (WML). · Develop proposals, manage project budgets, and provide strategic input into the growth of the environmental services portfolio. · Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout project lifecycles. Key Minimum Requirements: · MSc Degree in Environmental Science or a related field. · Must be SACNASP and/or EPASA registered. · Minimum 7 years' experience in environmental consultancy, with a strong focus on mine closure projects. · Experience in project management, including budgeting, proposal development, and client liaison. · In-depth knowledge of South African environmental laws and regulations, along with international exposure to environmental standards. · Demonstrated experience in managing EIAs, BARs, and WML applications. · Some managerial experience overseeing teams or projects and ensuring effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
